This agency job was to create a corporate design for a Croatian boat building company. The client wanted the design to reflect “traditional family values of a small entrepreneur”.
The logo is visually positioned somewhere between an emblem and a coat of arms. Its aesthetics resemble vintage, hand-drawn, monochromatic visuals, as if they were engraved into a wooden surface or drawn using a calligraphic pen. It incorporates a vintage ribbon with the brand name and a model name underneath, symbolic sea waves and a figurehead found on old sail ships.
The company’s stationery and business cards both have a watermark of an inverted logotype and three dividing stripes resembling navy rank stripes.
The requirements for the website were to keep it informative and product-centered. Next to the product models, there is a large gallery section that is updated biweekly.
The product pages are catalog styled, showing different configuration possibilities, add-ons and up-to-date prices.
One of the interesting parts of the website is the “Boat Builder”, where customers can customize their dream boat down to the smallest detail. They can also, in real-time, get the price information on the right hand side as they update their config. Once they are satisfied, they can input their name and e-mail address and automatically send the configuration to the dealer for a quote.
The website was implemented using WordPress with a custom built template, extended with a custom PHP mailing form that contained a jQuery driven calculation tool and custom JS-DOM functions.
