In 2006, Markus, our dear Business Manager and Director at the University, got offered a dream job in the private sector and decided to take it. We were all happy for him, but we knew that we would miss him, because he’s a really cool person that we were used to seeing every day. Next to the official parting presents, a couple of us decided to give him something more personal to remember us by.
Markus was crazy for pizza 🙂 His two assistants were therefore in charge of ordering his favorite kind of this Italian treat at least three times a week. Since he was moving to Vienna, they decided to dig out decent pizza places that would deliver to his new office. This information needed to be presented in a creative way and this was my cup of tea.
One quick shopping trip to the toy store later, I was ready to start my little project.
Using the original pizza-box templates I found online, I designed three miniature pizza boxes and positioned the restaurant’s name, address and phone number on the back.
After constructing a small box to fit the boxes, I attached it to a small classic “Vespa” model to resemble a delivery scooter.

The box was then fitted in black leather and hand-sewn.

Markus liked the gift and was surprised when he first saw it.
Last I heard, he keeps it on his desk in Vienna 🙂
